Maaike Poulussen

Executive Coach / Consultant

I am an experienced and professionally qualified Executive and Team Coach as well as a senior boardroom advisor on the topic of Organisational and Management development. I specialise in helping senior executives like you to navigate their way successfully through the dynamics in and around the boardroom. My own international corporate experience as an HR executive board member and member of a supervisory board, gives me an in-depth understanding of the specific challenges you face, such as change and transformation, organisational dynamics and talent development. In addition, I also draw on my many years’ experience as a senior business leader to act as a sounding board for you on important issues such as (team) effectiveness and organisational development.

I have developed a unique approach to coaching that accelerates the achievement of new insights and results. With my support and guidance, you can examine new ways of increasing your personal impact, solving problems, resolving conflicts and reducing stress. As a result, you will have more impact at work, elicit more commitment and engagement from your peers and direct reports and feel more visibly acknowledged for your hard work.

Executive board teams work with me on their purpose and strategy and how to define, communicate and implement it. Once this is done, boards can start to draw up a solid strategic roadmap on a content, process and relational level, one that is well thought-out and supported by all board members, so as to facilitate smooth and committed implementation.

Qualifications

Besides having had various roles as HR Director, counsellor, coach and change leader in my corporate life, I have also been professionally trained in executive coaching and transformational consultancy at Ashridge Business School (UK). I have been trained in transformational facilitation by Gita Bellin and have an internationally certified executive coaching diploma from the European Mentoring and Coaching Council (EMCC). I am experienced in working with numerous instruments and I enjoy using a solutions-focussed approach, Gestalt concepts, Transactional Analysis, Barrett values, StrengthsFinder and 360° questionnaires.

I also have an MA in French Language and Literature from the Radboud University of Nijmegen as well as an MA in Strategic Management from the Lemniscaat School of Management/Cornell University.

I am experienced in and enjoy working with international and multi-cultural teams. I speak Dutch (native), English and French fluently and I have passive knowledge of German and Spanish.

Style

My clients describe my style as challenging yet supportive, creating that essential space for them to think, reflect and open up to new perspectives before moving into implementation and action. I am pragmatic and results–driven and operate from a holistic perspective, engendering change in culture and performance.
